ROH presents Standing Above 7-8-09

Jimmy Jacobs: Tonight is the night, tonight is the night that it all comes to a end one way or the other. Austin Aries, the entire goal of the match in which we are participating is to destroy your opponent to a point at which they cannot stand. Austin Aries has degraded me, mauled me and more descriptively, violated me, not just physically, but mentally. I have done very similar mental disturbances in return. But tonight will be the ultimate disturbance. This will affect the mental state of Austin Aries, and defiantly the physical state as well. Tonight is the night that the Age of the Fall makes their grandest accomplishment. Yes, the Age of the Fall has won titles and been in brutal, bloody wars to deliver their message. But tonight, we end a career. There will be no more Austin Aries after tonight, because the things I do to you tonight, will surpass anything you or anyone else has experienced in Ring of Honor. This road torture will come to a screeching halt. No more Austin. No more torture.

· Claudio steps through the curtain and grabs another microphone

Claudio: For your information, I am a true man for the fact that I am the Ring of Honor Pure Champion, and that I am very European. So I will take you on in the ring… But this title will not be on the line. (The crowd boos Claudio) And I’ll tell you why. Because I heard what Bryan Danielson said about you. And whether these fans like him or not, it is one hundred percent fact. You do not deserve a World title match, and you sure do not deserve a Pure title match. There is a new league of professional wrestlers here in Ring of Honor. And just like Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness have taken you’re spot as top Ring of Honor World Champion, the most wealthiest man in the world took you’re spot as top Ring of Honor Pure Champion.
