ROH Video Wire 6/13/09

(Footage shown of Jimmy Jacobs trying to use the spike on Roderick Strong but being chased by Austin Aries)

(Video Wire opening)

Aries: One of the motto's in not just pro wrestling, but any competition, is that their is strength in numbers. Jimmy Jacobs, besides the fact that I hate your guts and feel that you are a peice of scum, you are smart. You realize that you have three, while I only have myself. Thats why before I even try to wrap my hands around your skinny throat, I'm gonna break your chain of comrades. I will do this in Virginia when I team with Bryan Danielson to take on Nigel McGuinness and your partner Tyler Black. Tyler Black will be cut from the chain in Virginia and then next week on the video wire, I will break one of your strongest and most violent chains in the Necro Butcher, and I will break him under his own turf, a hardcore match. And once he is done, it'll be you and me Jimmy. And we will end this war that has lasted way too long.

(Footage is shown of Alexis Laree's return to ROH in Detroit)

Alexis: Ring of Honor fans your eyes don't decieve you. This is Alexis Laree and I am back to Ring of Honor to gain dominance in the company with the best womens wrestling. And I hear that there will be a match coming up in Virginia featuring the Womens Champion MsChif. Maybe I'll get a closer look into how the Women of Honor show their strengths. I'll see you there.

(Video preview of the DVD release of Purely Honor)

Danielson: You know, fans have come to me all this week. Some asking me why would I say what I said in Detroit. Some in favor of it, some not. Either way it doesn't matter to me. I stick with my opinion. Samoa Joe deserted all of us in Ring of Honor when he left for his own benefit. He deserted everyone in the back and he deserted all the fans. Samoa Joe, you need to realize that I took your spot and you cannot take it back. Either way, you mean nothing to me, I'm gonna push you aside and move onto what is important and that is winning back the ROH World Title and I will make my first step in doing so in Virgina when i stand face to face with Nigel in a tag match. And then he will know why they call me the "Best Wrestler in the world today".

Will Rutherford: Fans, we are backstage here during intermission and I am with Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, the Motor City Machineguns. Guys, congratulations to Alex Shelley on his win tonight in your hometown of Detroit. And because of this, ROH management has decided to grant both of you two with shots at the ROH World Tag Team Championships in Virginia.

Alex Shelley: Finally, FINALLY! They recognize the future that is the careers of the Motor City Machine Guns. Beautiful night it was here in the Motor City. And now we have progressed into our future as ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Chris Sabin: I mean seriously, who’s gonna stop us in our path. Let’s look at our opposition. We have a fat slob with a pizza face.

Alex Shelley: I use Neutrogena. Makes a great moisturizer.

Chris Sabin: Well I’m a fan of Clearasil but different strokes for different folks.

Shelley: At least we know the true meaning of a well balanced diet.

Sabin: And then we have a skinny Mexican behind a mask.

Shelley: Honestly, I don’t know what you are hiding. I’d never hide behind a mask. I have websites dedicated to my facial features. My eyes, my smile.

Sabin: Your cheeks?

Shelley: Well, that’s a different website.

Sabin: Whatever. Anyways, the only thing that is gonna make our facial features look better, is those shiny pieces of gold around our waist.

Shelley: And once that happens, there will be mandatory doses of Vitamin A and Vitamin C for all the Ring of Honor fans.

Sabin: So what now?

Shelley: (Thinks) Come on, let’s go bang some hookers.

Sabin: I see why we are tag team partners. Let’s go!

Ring Announcer: Welcome back ladies and gentlemen from intermission and if you thought what you’ve just seen was amazing, wait till our three main events in the second half of our show. So sit back and re…

Ring Announcer: You’re… You’re…

(Mickie takes the microphone)

Mickie: I’m gonna stop you there. See, my name is not Mickie James. My name is Alexis Laree. Those that remember me as Alexis, thank you for your support. A little history lesson will show that I was once competing in the ring with this very company Ring of Honor. And when I wrestled here, those were two of the most informative and important years of my wrestling career. And when I left, there seemed to have been an emptiness and unfullfilness in my heart. When I was in WWE, I traveled the world, I made a name for myself and almost became like a mini celebrity. But that emptiness remained inside and continued to eat away until one day I began to surf the net. I hear, ROH has a new women’s division and a women’s title. A division of women’s wrestlers in ROH is something I never got to experience. I had emptiness in my heart before. And I think I know exactly how to fill it. I know that I am a former 4 time women’s champion. So why not make it number 5 in the best wrestling promotion on the face of the earth today, ROH! Fans of pro wrestling, Alexis Laree has come home!

Danielson: Hey Joe. Joe. Great job man. What a way to return to Ring of Honor. Everyone, give a round of applause for Samoa Joe. (Fans clap and chant “Thank you Joe”.) Absolutely amazing. Just like I remembered you Joe. (Pause) But let me tell you something. You have been gone for a long time now. The new number one contender is me! Joe, you signified pure wrestling. You signified Ring of Honor. Now that you left, I’ve taken you’re spot. Now, when people think pure wrestling, they think Bryan Danielson. When they think athleticism, they think Bryan Danielson. When they think of Ring of Honor, the first man to pop into their mind is me! When they think of Samoa Joe, they think of nothing but an absolute joke. How was it Joe? How was it to wrestle guys like Sting, and Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett? And how did it feel to sell out to every single one of these Ring of Honor fans? You sold out to put your name on a national scale. What did it get you Joe? Everything that you built up and everything you did to help us, you crapped on all of it. You crapped on making the ROH Championship a world title. So why do you deserve a title match? If any one deserves it, it is the best wrestler in the world today. As far as I’m concerned, you can fly you’re way back to Orlando, Florida and earn some extra cash by defacing you’re career even further. In my opinion, you are not welcomed here!

(Danielson jaw jacks with some fans as he leaves.)

(The crowd is divided between boos and cheers for Joe as he leaves.)

ROH Video Wire 6/6/09

Samoa Joe: I'm back boys!

(Intro to Video Wire)

Davey Richards: So Wendseday night in Detroit. I get the honor of wrestling Samoa Joe in his return match to Ring of Honor. You see Joe, in one of your last matches in the company, I faced you. And sure I wasn't able to pull out the win but a lot of people consider that one of the best matches for myself. Joe, when you were in ROH you were considered the hardest hitter. You were the baddest, the toughest and the most violent. But you see, since you left ROH to go to, well, bigger and better things, right buddy. Ha, I was the new hard hitter. I was the man that everynight the fans had their jaws dropped. Now, I took you're spot. So we will see what will happen when both of us get in that ring. But remember Joe, you're not in Florida anymore. Ring of Honor has strict policys on sharp objects at ringside. Haha. See you on the 10th boy.

Jimmy Jacobs: People ask me, Jimmy, why would you try to restart this bloody war you had with Austin Aries? Why would you attack him? Austin Aries has been considered the first child and the representation of Ring of Honor for a long time now. From Generation Next to the Austin Aries of today, you had everything brought to you on a silver platter. While people like myself, Tyler Black, and the Necro Butcher hoped and prayed that our time will come. Age of the Fall was formed in 2007 for one purpose. And that purpose was to change the face of pro wrestling and make stars out of ourselves. Much like Generation Next, except, we don't do this by showing our athleticism and ring prowess. We do it by destroying, one by one, everyone that stands in our path. And I will not abandon the cause because of you Austin. You will be another victim in our plan to gain dominance. The Age of the Fall will stand tall. Even if we have to stand over your prown, dead, body.

Austin Aries: Jimmy Jacobs, I'm going to make this short and sweet. You can rant and rave about your cause and trying to make names for yourselves. You attacked me and prevented me from being the first ever ROH triple crown champion for one reason. Jeaulosy. Its plaqued many wrestlers in the past but yours is much different. I have earned everything ROH has given me so maybe Jimmy you just plain don't have what it takes. And that eats you up inside doesn't it? Unlike Generation Next, you will not succeed. If you say that you will destroy me in your path. Well you better bring the natonal guard to try to take me down because I will not stop until I put you back in your place.

Ring Announcer: The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. On the way to the ring, the team of Kenny King and “Addicted to Love” Rhett Titus.

Ring Announcer: Their opponents, from Shady Fork, Delaware, weiging in at a combined weight of 430 pounds, the team of Jay and Mark, the Briscoe Brothers.

• Jay and King start the match off with King dominating with a headlock
• He is sent off the ropes and nailed with a shoulder block from Jay followed by a dropkick for two
• He sends King off the ropes and nails a standing hurricanrana and follows it with a STO sending King’s face into the second turnbuckle
• The tag is made to Mark who runs with full speed with a dropkick to the back of King while Jay nails the same to King’s head
• King fights back after Mark tries to put in offense and nails a rolling wheel kick
• King makes the tag to Titus who begins to do sexual gestures as he enters the ring
• This causes Mark to gain the advantage and attack Titus sending him into a boot from Jay
• Mark then springboards off the ropes for a lariat only to get two
• After hitting a Saito Suplex on Titus, Mark makes the tag and him and Jay hit a Crucifix Bomb/Neckbreaker combo for a two count
• King comes in for the attack and all four men begin to brawl
• Titus sends Jay over the ropes with a clothesline and King nails a running senton to the outside on both men
• Mark sees his opportunity and begins to climb to the top and hits a shooting star press on all three
• Jay sends Titus back into the ring, goes for a Frog Splash, but misses and gets nailed by a lariat from Titus
• He begins thrusting for the camera and hits an elbow drop on Jay for a two count
• The tag is made to King who applies a chinlock on Jay
• Jay gets up and begins to fight back on King and goes off the ropes with a big boot
• Rhett comes back in and has his head taken off with a superkick from Mark
• King is grabbed and nailed with a double high angle hip toss followed by a failed cover
• Rhett is nailed with a double shoulder block only for King to come on the attack
• King sends Mark off the ropes and hits a enziguri on Mark
• He tries for the Kings Coronation on Mark but Jay nails him in the gut and immediately dives out of the ring onto Titus
• He runs back in the ring soon enough to hit the Springboard Doomsday Device
• Jay also sets King for the Jay Driller and Mark takes Kings legs and forcibly drives him into the mat
• Mark makes sure Titus doesn’t reenter and allows Jay to get the pin

Ring Announcer: Your winner, Jay and Mark, The Briscoe Brothers

(The card is rundown for the show in Detroit on June 10th)

Colt Cabana: All my life, I dreamed of being a champion. I dreamed of one day being considered something more. Considered something better. Sure I did win the Tag Titles with CM Punk, but no offense to my friend, everyone considered him to be one step above me. Just recently, I came this close to winning the Pure Title and fullfilling my dream. Now I have my chance but first I must defeat Low Ki in Detroit and once I do I will move on to Claudio and gain the belt I have strived for for so long. The Ring of Honor Pure Title.

Low Ki: Colt Cabana. You're dream will be silenced.

Eamon: Welcome ladies and gentelmen to the first edition of Ring of Honor TV. We have a great show planned for you tonight with exclusive matches featuring the atheletes of Ring of Honor, plus exclusive ongoings in the world that is Ring of Honor. Of course, the big news coming from this week is the crowning of a new ROH Pure Champion in Double C Claudio Castagnoli. Claudio was able to last for two nights against 15 other men in a grueling tournament which ended with Claudio sealing his first singles title with a win over Colt Cabana. Claudio has made extreme struggles in his career from his move to america from Switzerland to finally reach his dream of winning a singles championship. We caught up with Claudio after his match.

Claudio: Finally, after all my hard work, all my dedication. This is the payoff. The ROH Pure Title. I represented Pure Wrestling since the beginning. This belt proves it. From the AJ Styles, to the Doug Williams, the Samoa Joes, the Nigel McGuinness's, the Bryan Danielson's. They all became wrestling stars becuase of this gold. And now it is time for Claudio Castagnoli to become the true star that he always wanted to be. I will make sure to defend this championship with dignity, with drive and honor against any man who wants to take this belt from me.

Eamon: Well, Claudio will be defending the championship sooner than later. As in Edison on May 29 we will have a #1 contenders match between two men that faced Claudio in the tournament. Those men are the over the top Colt Cabana and the hard hitting Low Ki. The winner of that match will then face Claudio for the Pure championship on June 10th in Detroit. Hopefully, Claudios dream of being champion will not be shattered in mere weeks. Also, shockingly coming from the Pure tournament was a series of events involving Jimmy Jacobs and the Age of the Fall. On the first night, we saw both Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs lose their matches in the first round of the tournament. Later on in the second night however, during the match between Austin Aries and Low Ki, this happened.

(Footage is shown of Jimmy Jacobs attacking Aries with the railroad spike during the match)

Eamon: Jacobs ruined the chance of Aries being a Triple Crown Champion. However, Jacobs will not go without punishment for his deeds as in Edison he will be wrestling both the man Tyler Black lost too in the tournament and former tag team champion with Austin Aries, Roderick Strong. Next week, we will get words from both Aries and Jacobs involving this situation. When we get back from commercial break we will see the Ring of Honor World Tag Team champions in action.

Eamon: Be sure to not just watch Ring of Honor TV. Visit rohwrestling.com for dvds from Ring of Honor, Shimmer, FIP, WWE, TNA and many others, plus exclusive ROH merchandise. Also catch Ring of Honor in your area as we will be in Edison, Detroit, Manassas, Boston, Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and Toronto. Go to rohwrestling.com for more information.

• Blade uses his strength to pick Generico up, flip him over and nail a clothesline, followed by a dropkick

• Generico then rushes in the ring and hits a brainbuster on Young to seal the victory

Ring Announcer: Your winners, the Ring of Honor World Tag Team champions, Kevin Steen and El Generico

• Both men shake hands after words and Steen and Generico celebrate as they go to the back

Eamon: What an awesome showing by our tag team champions of ROH Kevin Steen and El Generico. For those in the New Jersey area be sure to come to our show in Edison on the 29th as Steen and Generico will be in action as they take on the Osirian Portal. Also in Edison will be a classic match between Jimmy Rave and "The Best Wrestler in the World" Bryan Danielson. Earlier we caught up with Jimmy Rave about this match.

Rave: May 29th in Edison, New Jersey. Jimmy Rave makes himself a household name. Back when I was wrestling in Orlando, I was made an absolute joke of and eventually fired. So I will take out my frustration on a man considered the best wrestler in the world. Bryan Danielson, you may have all these different ways to take a man out. But in Edison, when I take you down and lock on that dreaded Heel Hook, as you scream like a little bitch, they wont matter. Because in Edison, Jimmy Rave will be considered "The Best Wrestler in the World" and will be one step closer to my ultimate goal of the Ring of Honor World Title!

Eamon: Harsh words from Jimmy Rave to Bryan Danielson but up next we will see our main event as Women's champion MsChif faces Allison Danger.

(Ring of Honor Classic Moment of the week is debuted featuring the first night in ROH)

(Tale of the tape is shown for MsChif vs Allison Danger)
